Why We Started Code Stack Technology
A father-and-son team with decades of experience launched Code Stack to bring Fortune 500 software quality to businesses of all sizes.
Why We Started Code Stack Technology
Some companies start with a pitch deck and a round of funding. Ours started with a conversation at the kitchen table.
We are a father-and-son team based in Houston, Texas, and between the two of us, we have spent decades building software for companies across nearly every industry you can think of. Enterprise resource planning systems for large organizations. Electronic health records platforms that doctors rely on every day. Financial trading systems where milliseconds matter. iPhone apps, online portals, live streaming platforms, and plenty more in between.
For years, we worked inside those systems and alongside the teams that built them. We saw what great software could do for a business, and we saw what it cost. That second part is what kept us up at night.
The Gap Nobody Was Talking About
Here is something we noticed again and again: the businesses that needed custom software the most were the ones least likely to get it.
If you are a Fortune 500 company, you can write a seven-figure check to a Big 4 consulting firm and get a team of fifty engineers deployed to your project. The process is slow, the layers of management are deep, and the final invoice might make your eyes water, but you will eventually get what you need.
But what if you are a growing company with forty employees and a process that is falling apart because you have outgrown your spreadsheets? What if you are a healthcare practice that needs two systems to talk to each other? What if you have an idea for a product but cannot justify a quarter-million-dollar build?
You get stuck. You settle for off-the-shelf tools that almost fit but never quite do. You duct-tape workflows together with Zapier and prayer. Or you just keep doing things manually and accept that this is the ceiling.
We watched this happen to businesses we knew and respected, and we kept coming back to the same question: why does custom software have to be this expensive?
What Changed Everything
The honest answer is that for a long time, it really did have to be that expensive. Building custom software required large teams working long hours over many months. The math was the math.
But then something shifted. AI did not just arrive as a buzzword or a chatbot novelty. It matured into something genuinely useful for the people who build software. Code generation, testing, architecture planning, documentation, debugging. The tools we use every day got dramatically more powerful.
This is the part that matters and that most people outside the industry do not fully grasp yet: AI does not replace good engineers. It multiplies them. A small team with deep experience and the right AI tools can now move at a pace that would have required a department just a few years ago. The quality does not suffer. If anything, it improves, because experienced developers using AI spend less time on boilerplate and more time on the decisions that actually shape whether software works well or not.
That realization was the spark. We looked at each other and said: we have the experience, we have the tools, and we know exactly who needs this. Why are we not doing it ourselves?
Built on Trust, Not Layers
When you work with Code Stack Technology, you work with us. Not an account manager. Not a junior developer who got assigned your project last Tuesday. Us. The people who have built enterprise systems, who understand healthcare interoperability standards like HL7 and FHIR, who have written algorithmic trading logic, who have shipped real products to real users.
We believe the best software gets built when the people writing the code are the same people listening to your problems. There is no game of telephone. There is no translation layer where your requirements get diluted into something that vaguely resembles what you asked for. You tell us what you need, and we build it.
That direct relationship is not just a selling point. It is the entire philosophy. We keep our team lean on purpose. Every project gets our full attention, our best thinking, and the kind of care that only comes from people who have staked their name and their family reputation on the work.
What We Are Building Right Now
We practice what we preach. Alongside our client work, we are building our own products. 365 Sports Online is a live sports streaming platform we are developing as a full SaaS product. Claude Terminal Share is a remote terminal access tool designed for developers and teams who need to collaborate in real time. These projects keep us sharp. They force us to solve the same kinds of problems our clients face, which means we bring fresh, tested thinking to every engagement.
An Invitation
If you are a business owner who has been told that custom software is out of reach, we would like to change your mind. If you have a process that is begging to be automated, a legacy system that needs to be modernized, or a product idea that you have not been able to get off the ground, we want to hear about it.
We started Code Stack Technology because we believe every business deserves software that fits the way they actually work. Not software that forces them to work differently. Not software that costs more than it should because it passed through six layers of overhead before a single line of code got written.
Just good software, built by people who know what they are doing, at a price that makes sense.
That is why we are here. Let's build something together.
